Better Life Index

The Better Life Index (BLI) measures 11 dimensions that shape people’s current wellbeing in OECD and partner countries covering income and wealth, jobs and earnings, housing, health, education, work-life balance, environment, social connections, civic engagement, safety and subjective wellbeing. Users can assign a weight to each of the 11 dimensions to create their own composite index. The index fits within the OECD's Better Life Framework, although it does not cover all dimensions of this framework. The BLI is developed by the OECD in 2011.
